How to Travel During The School Year

Happy back to school season, my friends! I know many of you have kiddos going back to school this time of year, are starting your homeschool year, or are a teacher yourself. Let’s talk about how you can maximize your travel opportunities while still working around the school calendar. Sometimes you just have to take an extra day or two to extend an already-planned school closure and you have the perfect travel window!

2024 Travel Opportunities - reach out for last minute travel specials!

  • Monday, Sept. 2: Labor Day

  • Fall Break

  • Tuesday, Nov. 5: Election Day - Vote early and if your kids can miss Monday, you have a 4 day weekend

  • Monday, Nov. 25 - Friday, Nov. 29: Thanksgiving Break

  • Holiday Break - Hint: If you don’t go back until January, try to travel just after the new year for lower crowds!

2025 Travel Opportunities

  • Monday, Jan. 20: MLK Holiday

  • Monday, Feb. 17: Presidents Day

  • Spring Break

  • Friday, April 18: Good Friday/ Easter Weekend

  • Monday, May 26: Memorial Day

  • End of School Year - Hint: If you are out before the beginning of June, this is a great travel window to take advantage of!

  • Summer Break

  • Monday, Sept. 1: Labor Day

  • Monday, Nov. 24 - Friday, Nov. 28: Thanksgiving Break

  • Holiday Break - Hint: If you don’t go back until January, try to travel just after the new year for lower crowds!

Be sure to check your school’s calendar for random closure/ teacher work days that give you even more wiggle room! Utilizing these more random days for travel lessons crowds and, generally, travel prices.
